Hello, my name is Michelle Lewis of Independence, Oregon. This year I joined The Light of the World Ministry board of directors as the Secretary/ Treasurer. I am in love with Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my Savior in 1980. I desire to use my gifts to encourage other brothers & sisters in Christ, to share the Good News with unbelievers, and to pray for others.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 32 years, and together we have three adult children. We have been serving the Lord together leading Bible studies with community groups, young adults, college, high school and junior high since 1999.
I have been blessed with employment opportunities supporting Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Services. I have owned my own business, and currently am an office manager with Kennel Farms. In my spare time, I volunteer with The Gate Youth Association, lead Bible Studies, and help various believers and churches with projects, counseling, or encouragement. I have served on the Board of Directors for Polk 1 Firefighters Association and Calvary Chapel Salem.
I am moved by what The Light of the World Ministries is accomplishing by giving hope to young orphans. It’s a true act of love Adopting 91 children, housing them in five homes, providing food, clothing, love, schooling while teaching them about Jesus. Beyond the orphanages, The Light of the World Ministries extends its reach to 120 widows, 14 churches, 7 nursery schools, 9 primary schools, and 5 Junior and Senior secondary schools, impacting nearly 10,000 lives monthly in Sierra Leone.
